The Sacraments
A sacrament is an outward, visible sign of inward, invisible divine grace instituted by Jesus Christ.
Baptism
Baptism is the first sacrament that a person receives in the life of faith. It washes away the stain of original sin as well as, in the case of somebody receiving Baptism later in life, any personal sins the person has committed. More than that, it gives the person new life—the life of God.
eucharist
The Eucharist is the Real Presence of God, Jesus Christ, body and blood, under the appearances of bread and wine.
matrimony
Matrimony is a public, lifelong, and indissoluble covenant between a baptized man and a baptized woman, established by God. It symbolizes the union of Christ and His Church, conferring grace to strengthen the couple's unity, holiness, and openness to raising a family.
Confirmation: Seals the baptized with the gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening them for active service.
Reconciliation: Grants forgiveness for sins committed after baptism through confession.
Anointing of the Sick: Provides spiritual strength, peace, and healing for those suffering from illness or old age.
Holy Orders: Ordains men to serve as deacons, priests, or bishops to guide the church.
